Wedding Photography at Thursford Garden Pavilion
The Wedding Venue with a Magical Experience
Wow, just Wow. Thursford Garden Pavilion is a true showstopper. It has everything you need and more. It is the closest you will get to having a wedding at Disneyland other than Disneyland itself. The twinkly lights and carousel rides are truly magical and jaw-dropping. They have thought about every detail and it incorporates so much. It's a photographer's dream and hopefully yours too. As an exclusive venue, this means the venue will be solely yours for the full day.
My Top 5 Things about Thursford Garden Pavilion
- The magical museum is top of this list. Enjoy all the fun of the fairground on the enchanting carousel and spellbinding gondolas. The perfect backdrop for your drinks and canapés reception.
- They know how to put on a show, and the venue is lit beautifully. I love all the fairy lights around the grounds during the evening.
- Another showstopper - the dance floor. This hidden area creates an unforgettable first dance (I won’t give too much away).
- Holly Lodge is a stone's throw from the venue. Its beautiful 18th-century building is ideal for getting ready in the morning. There is plenty of space for your wedding party to stay, including the cozy Shepherd’s Hut.
- The Old Farm Barn is just another reason to consider Thursford. I know a lot of couples are looking for a Barn wedding, and this ticks all the boxes
- I know I said 5, but the staff are lovely too.
My day normally starts at Holly Lodge for the bride and groom prep around 9:30/10 am. This boutique B&B is beautifully furnished and great for the little detail shots of things like the wedding dress, tailored suits, jewellery, flowers, and shoes. I also like to get lay-flat photographs of your invitations, so don’t forget to bring those. The 4 options for the ceremony at Thursford Garden Pavilion are The Old Barn, Al Fresco on the lawn, the museum, and the Garden Pavilion.
The Pavilion for your wedding breakfast is like no other. It's more than a marquee. The way you are able to look out over the lavish panoramic views while your guests play outdoor games is magical. You can even finish your day with fireworks and sparklers - just another great photo opportunity to capture those precious memories.
My top 5 location shots at Thursford Garden Pavilion, Norfolk
- The Carousel is the must-have shot. Both in front of and riding it in motion. I love the motion shot, but taking it while riding the carousel backwards is a little scary.
- The group shots in front of the gondola are always brilliant. There is no need to worry about the weather for your group shots and no better backdrop for them.
- The stage in the museum is where the Thursford Christmas Spectacular takes place. This truly is a Spectacular backdrop for couple photos before heading outside for the confetti.
- The venue is turned up another level as the sunsets and all the twinkly fairy lights are turned on. A magical experience and perfect for the special evening couple shots.
- The dance floor is one of the best out there. They have really thought about it, and it looks amazing. First dance, father and daughter, or all-out partying, it's perfect.
