Sprowston Manor Hotel Norfolk
If you are having a HUGE wedding and need a lot of space for all your friends and family then Sprowston Manor Hotel is a great potential choice.
As well as being one of Norwich’s largest hotels it also has one of the largest marquee spaces with massive grounds.
The other large hotels available are Dunston Hall, Barnham Broom or Park Farm Hotel which all cater for weddings.
Sprowston Manor’s Norfolk Suite (the marquee) is very bright, spacious and airy, perfect for large groups upto 300 and the more intimate Suffolk Suite has a warmer traditional feel allowing upto 100 guests.
My top 5 things about Sprowston Manor
- This idyllic 16th Century Hotel has beautiful historic features, great as the perfect backdrop to your wedding day photographs
- The outside space is almost endless, from the elegant tree line entrance to the 170 acres of pristinely kept parkland
- The lawns are great for your guests to chat and mingle as well as for the confetti photos
- With over 90 bedroom suites there is more than enough for all your wedding party to stay over night
- Both the Norfolk & Suffolk Suite have large stages, perfect for your DJ or band and for really great dance floor photos
Although Sprowston Manor is big, it is actually all the small hidden spots around the estate that make every single wedding slightly different and personal for your photographs.
If you want a really relaxed day then I highly recommend booking their full package. From getting ready in the morning to the ceremony and into the wedding breakfast and party afterwards.
By having your entire day at Sprowston Manor it will allow you more time with your guests to enjoy.
Both sides of the wedding party can get ready on site in their own comfortable bedroom suites, allowing me to jump between the two, getting all of the preparation photographs.
There is also the advantage of taking in an early game of golf to settle the nerves.
I always think the long tree line entrance is the perfect first impression. This is one of my key photos I like to get on the wedding day. I start this at the decorative wrought iron gates and walk my couples down to the stream that runs along the edge of the golf course.
My top 5 location shots at Sprowston Manor, Norfolk
- If you are arriving by car (or even if not) the fountain at the front is a great space for couple and group shots
- The staircase with its huge windows are great for indoor shots that are naturally light (especially on rainy days)
- The pagoda is the perfect stage to your outdoor ceremony and photographs. Sprowston Manors pagoda is one of the largest and most open, so perfect 360 shots for your ceremony
- Golden hour is fantastic in the long grasses, near to the golf course (but far enough away not to get hit)
- The water features are great for a quick sneak away together for chill moment as well as for the sunset shots.
If you are visiting Sprowston Manor as a choice for your wedding venue then feel free to drop into my studio just 15 - 20 minutes away at Potter Heigham. You can view examples of weddings I have photographed at Sprowston Manor and discuss your wedding photography.
Thanks for reading and I hope that this helps.
